Frequently asked questions

What will be different this time?

Recovery is possible when you commit wholeheartedly to the treatment process and have the willingness to change. This commitment and belief will allow you to acknowledge your addiction and discard harmful behaviors that have hurt you and those you love. When you are invested and engaged, attend classes and participate in therapy, our program can lead to a process of change resulting in wellness, fulfillment of potential, and healing.

Can I smoke?

Yes, but any cigarettes brought to the facility must be unopened in its original container.

Can my family visit me while in treatment?

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we are not able to accommodate family visits at this time.

Is my treatment completely confidential?

Yes, you can rest assured that Urban Recovery staff will protect your privacy. We comply with all HIPAA and privacy laws and regulations.

Do you offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT)?

Yes, we offer MAT. Medications available at Urban Recovery include Suboxone, Vivitrol, Sublicaid, and Buprenorphine.

What happens when I leave treatment?

At Urban Recovery, we know that your residential stay is only the first step in your recovery. That’s why we work with you to create a plan for your transition out of the program. On day one, we start creating an aftercare plan for you. When your time at Urban Recovery comes to an end, you will have a fully customized discharge plan

What happens when I arrive at Urban Recovery?

When you arrive at Urban Recovery, you will be graciously greeted by one of our intake coordinators. They will provide you and assist you with all the paperwork needed for admission. One of our caring nurses will then take your vitals and ask you some questions about your medical history, including any medications you are taking. The nurse will ask you for a urine sample to see the drugs in your system and to better guide and inform your detox and treatment needs. Staff will then take an inventory of your personal items to ensure they meet our guidelines and will store your valuables in the safe. It is possible that you may enter medical detox or begin residential treatment right away, but that is dependent on your admissions paperwork and the medical team approving you for admission.

How long will I be at Urban Recovery?

We are primarily a 21-28 day short-term treatment program. The length of stay will depend on each person’s unique needs, goals, and situation; however, longer treatment durations tend to result in better outcomes.

Will I get a psychiatric evaluation?

Yes, successful treatment requires treating the whole person, not just the addiction. All Urban Recovery patients receive a psychiatric evaluation in the first 24 hours so that any mental health issues may be identified and addressed.

Does Urban Recovery accept insurance?

Yes. Urban Recovery accepts some commercial plans and most Medicaid plans. We know that insurance can be complicated, so we have a full- time staff member that will assist you in getting insurance approval to ensure you get the help you need as seamlessly as possible.

Can bring my cell phone and computer?

We are an electronic free facility. Any cellphones or computers brought in by clients will be safe-kept for the duration of their stay and returned upon discharge.
